Guests can take a leisurely walk along a nature trail to relax themselves. After coming down to the main road from the hotel, head towards Bandarawela side. About 150m down the road there is a turnoff to the trail, on the right hand side of the road. This trail goes in to the mountain for about another 150m. At the end of the trail, there is a great view of the Hakgala mountain range.
About 1.5km away from the hotel, towards Badulla, there is the "Seetha Kovil", a Hindu temple steeped in local folklore. There are some interesting carvings and decorations on this kovil.
Another .5km from the kovil, along the same route, is the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. From the hotel, it is about 2km away.
An early morning walk along this scenic route up to the gardens is a healthy, energetic way to start the day. Or guest can also choose to take a ride along the route, on mountain bikes provided by the hotel.
